Galatasaray Complete €75 Million Victor Osimhen Transfer Payment To Napoli
Galatasaray have completed payment of the full €75m transfer fee for Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, drawing a line under their financial obligations to Napoli and closing one of the biggest deals in Turkish football history.
The Turkish champions settled the final instalment of €17.5 million, bringing to an end a payment structure agreed when Osimhen’s permanent move was finalised in July 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, Galatasaray paid €40m upfront, with the remaining €35m split into two instalments of €17.5m. The final payment was originally due before the end of 2026.
According to Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük, the early completion of the payment plan strengthens Galatasaray’s position ahead of the summer transfer window, with the club no longer carrying any liabilities linked to the striker’s signing.
Osimhen’s transfer remains the most expensive incoming deal in Turkish football, eclipsing Fenerbahce’s €20m acquisition of Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla FC.
The agreement with Napoli also included a clause entitling the Italian club to 10 per cent of any future profit from Osimhen’s next transfer. Another key provision prevents Galatasaray from selling the forward to a Serie A club before 2027 without incurring a significant penalty.
The clause, reportedly inserted by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, would require Galatasaray to pay double the total transfer fee if Osimhen returns to Italy to join a domestic rival before the agreed date.
Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli deteriorated after the 2022/23 campaign, despite his pivotal role in delivering the club’s first Serie A title in 33 years. The Nigerian finished that season as the league’s leading scorer with 26 goals.
Although he signed a lucrative contract extension in December 2023 that made him Napoli’s highest-paid player, tensions increased during a difficult 2023/24 season. The club’s rejection of a reported $170m bid from Al Ahli further widened the divide.
The striker eventually joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 campaign and produced a remarkable return of 37 goals and eight assists across all competitions, the most prolific single-season output in the Istanbul club’s recent history.
Those performances convinced Galatasaray to push for a permanent deal. After weeks of negotiations over payment terms and banking guarantees, the transfer was completed in July 2025.
Naija News reports that Osimhen signed a four-year contract reportedly worth €15m net per season in guaranteed wages, alongside bonuses and image-rights payments.
The 27-year-old continued his impact in his first full season as a permanent Galatasaray player, scoring 22 goals and registering eight assists in 33 appearances. His contributions helped the club secure a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Despite settling the transfer fee in full, speculation over Osimhen’s future remains intense. European heavyweights Real Madrid CF, Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC and FC Bayern Munich have all been linked with the Nigerian striker in recent months.
