Osimhen Finishes Among UCL’s Top Match-Winners As UEFA Reveals Award Leaders
Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, finished the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League campaign among the competition’s most influential performers after UEFA released the full list of Player of the Match winners for the season.
Osimhen collected four Player of the Match awards, placing him joint-top alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Paris Saint-Germain, Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid and Francisco Trincão of Sporting CP.
UEFA’s Technical Observer Group selected the award winners after every match, with recipients presented an official trophy on the pitch.
Osimhen’s standout displays helped Galatasaray reach the Round of 16 after overcoming Juventus in the knockout play-off round. The Turkish champions’ European run eventually ended against Liverpool, who progressed with a 4-1 aggregate win.
Osimhen, 27, earned his first Player of the Match award in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Matchday Two. He claimed his second honour after starring in a 3-1 win over Bodø/Glimt on Matchday Three before producing another match-winning display in the club’s 3-0 triumph at Ajax on Matchday Four.
His fourth award arrived during the knockout play-off second leg against Juventus. Although Galatasaray were eliminated following a 3-2 extra-time defeat, Osimhen’s performance was enough to earn him the individual accolade.
Only four other players matched the Nigerian’s tally of four awards across the season. Kvaratskhelia played a key role in Paris Saint-Germain’s march to the title, while Kane again proved decisive for Bayern Munich. Mbappé maintained his reputation as one of Europe’s most decisive forwards, and Trincão was instrumental in Sporting CP’s impressive campaign.
The Champions League final saw Paris Saint-Germain defeat Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Vitinha named Player of the Match.
UEFA’s season leaderboard for Player of the Match awards ended with Kvaratskhelia, Kane, Osimhen, Mbappé and Trincão sharing top spot on four awards each.
