List Of 2027 Presidential Candidates And Parties

Nigeria’s 2027 presidential race has begun to take shape as major political parties unveil their candidates ahead of the January 16, 2027, election.

Naija News reports that the candidates emerged from primary elections conducted across the country, while others were selected through consensus.

However, the process has sparked controversy among some parties, with dissatisfied aspirants and stakeholders raising concerns about the conduct of primaries and nomination procedures.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed May 30 as the deadline for political parties to complete primaries and resolve disputes arising from the nomination process.

The commission warned that parties that failed to comply with the timetable risked losing the opportunity to field candidates in the election.

The development signals a new phase in the contest, as parties now shift attention to nationwide consultations, alliance-building and preparations for full-scale campaigns.
