Debreceni VSC Sign Stephen Odey, Chukwueze Targets Fulham Return For Spurs Clash
Hungarian club Debreceni VSC have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Stephen Odey on a free transfer.
Stephen Odey, 28, arrived after his contract with Danish side Randers FC expired in December. He spent four and a half years at the Superliga outfit, initially joining on loan in 2021 before making the move permanent.
During his time in Denmark, the forward scored 28 goals in 129 appearances. He previously played for FC Zürich, KRC Genk and Amiens SC. Across his career, he has netted 83 goals in various leagues.
Debreceni VSC, a seven-time Hungarian champion, expect Stephen Odey to strengthen their attacking options as they push for success in the coming season.
In England, Samuel Chukwueze is in contention to return for Fulham FC against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The winger missed last week’s 3-1 win over Sunderland due to a minor calf issue but has been training with the squad. Head coach Marco Silva confirmed his progress.
“Saša (Lukić), (Samuel) Chukwueze and the others have been in and out of contention, but they’ve had a good week. (Antonee) Robinson is back in sessions with the team,” Silva said.
“We have another session, and we’re going to make a decision after that.”
Chukwueze joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan at the start of the season and has contributed three goals and four assists in 13 Premier League appearances.
