Akinsanmiro Set For Inter Return After Pisa Deal Falls Through

Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsamiro is set to return to Inter Milan after a proposed permanent move to Pisa collapsed at the final stage.

Akinsamiro spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Pisa, making 24 appearances and providing one assist during the campaign.

The Serie B side had been ready to activate the €7.5 million purchase clause in the midfielder’s contract. However, the deal broke down during the exchange of documents between the clubs.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained the situation via FCInter1908.

“The Akinsanmiro purchase option collapsed due to a problem between the clubs, the option had been exercised but it fell through at the documents stage. Inter are now evaluating other offers for the midfielder,” he said.

The failed transfer has reopened Akinsamiro’s future, with reports suggesting interest is growing from clubs in Germany.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, several Bundesliga sides are keeping a close watch on the Nigerian’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

A fresh loan move remains a possibility, although Inter could also sanction a permanent transfer if a suitable offer arrives.

Akinsamiro joined Inter from NPFL champions Remo Stars in January 2023 after signing a four-year contract. The midfielder, a product of Beyond Limits Academy, previously spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old was also named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) but did not make an appearance during the tournament.
