Super Falcons Camp Swells To 24 As Nnadozie, Alozie, Ohale, Ihezuo Arrive For Cameroon Friendlies
Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming international friendlies against Cameroon gathered fresh momentum on Friday as four senior players checked into the Super Falcons’ camp in Yaoundé.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Osinachi Ohale, alongside forward Chinwendu Ihezuo, arrived at the team’s Hilton Hotel base, raising the number of players in camp to 24.
The quartet are expected to link up with their teammates in training later tonight as the tempo increases ahead of the double-header against the Indomitable Lionesses.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 16 others had earlier settled in and wasted no time getting to work, holding their first training session at the annex of the Stade Omnisport Ahmadu Ahidjo. The squad is also scheduled to train at the main bowl in Yaoundé as part of final preparations.
Saturday’s first friendly against Cameroon will take place at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé, with the second meeting fixed for Tuesday.
Both encounters are expected to offer a proper examination for the nine-time African champions as they sharpen tactics and combinations ahead of next month’s continental assignment.
The matches form part of Nigeria’s build-up to the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to be staged in Morocco from 17 March to 3 April 2026.
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most decorated women’s national side with ten titles, will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and tournament debutants Malawi. Their campaign will begin on 18 March in Casablanca against Malawi.
Cameroon, runners-up in 2016, are drawn in Group D with Ghana, Mali and Cape Verde, and will open their tournament against Mali in Fes.
More reinforcements are still expected in Yaoundé, including Mexico-based wing-back Chidinma Okeke and experienced midfielder Halimatu Ayinde, as the technical crew fine-tunes the squad.
