Bruno Fernandes Dismisses Saudi Rumours, Focused On Manchester United’s Future

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly ruled out any move to the Saudi Pro League, reaffirming his commitment to the club and its long-term rebuilding project.

Reports from BBC Sport say Bruno Fernandes has no interest in leaving Old Trafford, despite being the subject of renewed offers from Saudi giants Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad.

Fernandes had already rejected massive proposals from both clubs last summer, choosing instead to stay and lead United through their current transition phase.

Sources close to the 31-year-old Portugal international have completely dismissed claims that he plans to walk away from Manchester United after next summer’s World Cup.

They insist Fernandes remains focused on playing in Europe’s top competitions and helping the team push for Champions League qualification.

“He’s not considering any move to Saudi Arabia,” a source told BBC Sport. “He’s fully focused on Manchester United and on helping the club achieve its goals.”

Fernandes, who is under contract until 2027 with an option for an extra year, continues to be a central figure in the Manchester United squad.

This season, manager Ruben Amorim has deployed him in a deeper midfield role, believing the change allows him to dictate play more often. Some critics, however, argue that it limits his threat in front of goal, an area where he has been a proven asset since arriving at the club.

Despite the tactical adjustment, Fernandes remains one of United’s standout performers.

He reached a personal milestone last month, scoring his 100th goal for the club during the win over Chelsea, which also marked his 200th Premier League appearance. In total, he has played 298 matches in all competitions for United.

After the Chelsea victory, Amorim praised his captain’s influence on and off the pitch.

“He deserves all the praise,” said Amorim. “That guy deserves to be in the history of our club, not just for what he does but for what his team conquers.”

With new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe steering a long-term rebuild, Fernandes is seen as a vital part of United’s future.

The midfielder believes the club can still secure a top-five finish this season, which could bring a Champions League spot.
