Tinubu Sued For Allegedly Appointing APC Loyalists As Top INEC Officials

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has urged an erstwhile governor of Ogun State, Segun Osoba to advise President Bola Tinubu to listen to constructive criticism instead of faulting the opposition.

Ologbodiyan gave the warning during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday.

Reacting to issues raised by Osoba concerning the criticism of Tinubu’s government, the erstwhile PDP spokesperson insisted that Tinubu should be advised to do the needful concerning the current situation in the country.

Ologbodiyan asserted that Tinubu ought to listen to the opposition and take into cognisance some of the things they point out.

The PDP chieftain lamented that Tinubu’s government cannot be separated from that of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari as they seem to be plying the same path.

According to him, “I don’t think that all that PDP does is to go on being abusive. I’ll disagree with him on this topical matter. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been a member of the APC even Chief Segun Osoba has been a member of APC, In all the years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration with all the criticisms and alternative voices, that the PDP and other opposition political parties have provided, have they implemented them?

“I was reading the front page of ThisDay newspaper today, I discovered that my boss (referring to Osoba) has started advising Tinubu to restore the security of the country.

“You can agree with me that the issue of the security apparatus of Nigeria has become comatose and has become a song in the PDP. Have they agreed to do anything in respect of that? The answer is no. The challenge that we have in this country is that once you get into government, you forget the other side and that is what we need to address.

“That is the advice that Osoba needs to give to his friend Bola Tinubu. He should tell him to listen to what is being said on the other flank.

“It’s not okay to just say that the opposition should provide advice, the ones that they have provided, what did you do with them? If we’re going to be honest to ourselves in this county, I don’t think that we should separate the Asiwaju presidency from Buhari’s presidency.

“I know that the Asiwaju presidency is trying to distance itself from Buhari’s presidency but they are tied and they are one. After all Asiwaju when he became president did say that governance will be a continuum, that he would follow the path of President Buhari. So they cannot separate themselves now.

“Hasn’t the PDP been speaking about the issue of corruption under Buhari and Tinubu leadership? What have they done about it? If the Asiwaju government is serious it will confront the challenges that is what PDP is saying.

“It’s not enough to say that PDP is abusive, PDP is this and that. They’re not providing alternatives. The ones that they’ve been providing since 2015 till today, what has the APC government done about them?”
