The PUNCH: The Federal Government on Monday asked the organised Labour to shelve its planned strike slated to commence on Tuesday (today). The government reminded the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of a restraining order issued by the National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Friday.


The Guardian: As the global community marks the World Diabetes Day (WDD) 2023 today, the high morbidity, mortality and soaring cost of treating the killer disease have continued to worry both patients and caregivers alike. By official records of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN), no fewer than 11.2 million Nigerians are in various stages of diabetes ailment.


Vanguard: The aviation and diplomatic circles in Nigeria were ruffled yesterday, as the Saudi Arabian government cancelled the visa of all the 264 passengers airlifted by Nigeria’s major carrier, Air Peace, on arrival at the country from Kano, insisting that they be returned to Nigeria.


The Nation: Organised Labour yesterday declared the commencement of a nationwide strike from midnight yesterday. This is despite Friday’s interim injunction by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) restraining the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and their affiliates from embarking on the strike.


Daily Trust: Naira scarcity is biting harder across the country as banks have limited cash withdrawals, findings by Daily Trust have shown. Residents of Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa and Adamawa and in other parts of the country are expressing concerns over their inability to withdraw huge cash in their banks, raising fears of scarcity as experienced during the naira swap.
