Victor Boniface Reveals Importance Of Bayer Leverkusen In His Career

Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface says Bayer Leverkusen is the “ideal” club for him following an incredible Bundesliga debut.

Victor Boniface who is 22 years old, joined the Bundesliga from Union St-Gilloise in the summer and has scored 10 goals and provided six assists so far this season.

He has also won the Bundesliga Player of the Month Award once and the Rookie of the Month Award twice.

Even though he is already the most successful Nigerian player in the Bundesliga so far this season, Boniface said he still has a lot of development to undergo.

“Bayer Leverkusen are the perfect club for me because they develop young players like me,” Victor Boniface said.

Victor Boniface also said that the Europa League was his favourite competition, having won the tournament’s highest goalscorer award with six goals last season.

Leverkusen agreed to part with €20 million for him because of his outstanding performance at Union St-Gilloise in the 2022-2023 season.

So far in the Europa League campaign in the colours of Bayer Leverkusen, he scored twice to re-announce himself as one of the best strikers in the tournament.

Thanks in large part to Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen has played 14 of their 15 games this season without losing.

The goal contributions of the 22-year-old Nigerian striker have helped Leverkusen to amass 21 league points from 10 games so far in the Bundesliga.
