Rodrygo Extends His Contract With Real Madrid

Brazilian forward, Rodrygo has extended his stay with Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid, days after his countryman, Vinicius Junior did the same at the club.

Rodrygo who is one of the brightest youngsters in the world, put pen to paper earlier today, November 2, for a deal that would keep him at Real Madrid until 2028.

In line with the new trend in La Liga, especially between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, where clubs put an outrageous release clause in the contract of their youngsters, Madrid included a one billion euro release clause in Rodrygo’s new deal.

The 22-year-old attacking-minded footballer has made 18 appearances for Brazil’s national team and scored 39 goals in 179 games for Real Madrid.

Recall that Rodrygo joined the Spanish La Liga giants when he was just 18 years old from a Brazilian club, Santos

As a Real Madrid player, he has won two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey, the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Uefa Champions League.

He was among the youngsters that featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Brazil and played a total of five games before the country was knocked out of the competition.

Naija News has reported that Rodrygo’s international teammate, Vinicius Junior signed a new deal with Real Madrid on Tuesday, November 1. The new contract which also comes with a one billion euros release clause would expire on June 30, 2027.
