The manager of Chelsea football club, Mauricio Pochetino has admitted that the club’s new striker, Nicolas Jackson is suffering at the club.

Just like most big-name signings at Chelsea over the years, especially in the last two seasons, Nicolas Jackson has been struggling to establish himself at the club.

Historically, Chelsea is known to be unlucky in terms of signing a top 9 and the last top 9 that was consistently productive at the club was retired Didier Drogba who officially bowed out of the West London side in 2015.

Since that year, Chelsea have tried so many strikers including Romelu Lukaku, but they have not been lucky enough to land a reliable striker.

When Nicolas Jackson arrived at Stamford Bridge from Villarreal on July 1, 2023, for a transfer fee worth €37 million, most Chelsea fans thought they had landed their new Drogba.

However, Jackson has been the total opposite of their expectation as he has managed to score just three goals in 11 games in all competitions so far this season.

Ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup round of 16 games against Blackburn Rovers at 8:45 p.m. later tonight, November 1, Pochettino had to defend the form of the 22-year-old Senegalese striker.

The Argentine tactician said: “For different reasons, Jackson is now suffering. Nico needs support. I believe in him”.

“The only problem is time. I don’t want to give examples, but he arrived at Chelsea in a situation that is not easy for him. We cannot be unfair in the analysis”.
