Eleven New Supreme Court Justices To Be Sworn-in On Monday

The Supreme Court will do a live transmission of Thursday’s final judgement on the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News understands the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, approved the live transmission of the Supreme Court Judgment.

Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) are challenging the declaration of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

In September, the Presidential Election Petitions Court dismissed their petitions against Tinubu and affirmed the President’s victory at the polls.

Dissatisfied with the ruling, the two major opposition parties and their candidates, Atiku (PDP) and Obi (LP), approached the Supreme Court seeking to overturn Tinubu’s victory.

The apex court, on Monday, heard the argument from their lawyers and on Wednesday, announced that judgment would be delivered on Thursday (today).

A seven-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice John Inyang Okoro would rule on the petitions filed by Atiku and Obi.

Accept Outcome In Good Faith

Meanwhile, former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has in a post via X, appealed to all political parties and supporters to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, which is final regarding the 2023 election.

He said all parties should also shun political rancour, unite and face the task of rescuing the economy, especially the Naira and the damages of the immediate past administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

Bruce added that governing must begin in earnest, and Nigerians should no longer be at loggerheads with each other but against insecurity, criminality, economic hardship and disunity.
