Govs Makinde, Sanwo-Olu, Oyebanji, Abiodun Visit Akeredolu In Ibadan

Southwest Governors on Tuesday, visited their ailing colleague, Rotimi Akeredolu at his private residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

As earlier reported by Naija News, three Governors of the Southwest, Babajide Sanwo-olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) first visited their colleague in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.

The four governors held a brief private meeting at the Oyo state governor’s office and later drove out to check on their Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu in his private residence in Ibadan.

It would be recalled that Akeredolu had been in Ibadan since returning from his medical trip to Germany.

The Ondo State Governor had been recuperating in Ibadan since returning to Nigeria from Germany.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke was however not seen in the video.

Aiyedatiwa Speaks On Sponsoring Protest Against Akeredolu

The embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has denied being behind a planned protest against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Recall that some youths in the state under the aegis of Ondo Youth and Masses Conscience, on Monday, raised alarm over a plan by those loyal to Aiyedatiwa to protest against Akeredolu’s absence in the state.

The State Coordinator of the youth group, Adetunji Benjamin, alleged that the plan was aimed at portraying Akeredolu as incapacitated, hidden away from public view by his family and associates.

But in a statement, he personally signed in Akure on Monday, the Deputy Governor disowned the alleged protesters, saying that he was not behind the planned protest.

Aiyedatiwa also stated that he was not aware of any such protest and that no group nor association has his endorsement to carry out public demonstrations of any kind.

The embattled deputy governor therefore asked the security operatives in the state to continue to maintain peace and ensure that the good people of the state.
