Hamas Not IDF Responsible For Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital Blast - Says Israel PM, Netanyahu
Israel Prime Minister - Benjamin Netanyahu

The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Palestine, Hamas, was responsible for the failed shooting that hit Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital located in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, says Isreali Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

His position was also echoed by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson, Daniel Hagari.

Naija News reported earlier how the said attack left over five hundred people killed. It was gathered that the hospital is where thousands of displaced Palestinian civilians are seeking medical treatment and shelter from attacks.

The Palestinian health ministry had disclosed yesterday that the attack was carried out by Israeli airstrikes.

The spokesperson of the IDF, Hagari, however, said the forces did not have any knowledge regarding what happened at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.

“We will get the details and update the public. I don’t know to say whether it was an Israeli air strike,” Hagari had said earlier.

The likes of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Bahrain had also accused the Jewish state of firing the rocket at the hospital.

In a turn of events, however, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, blamed the horrific hospital blast on Palestine.

“So the whole world knows: The barbaric terrorists in Gaza are the ones who attacked the Gaza hospital, not the IDF,” Netanyahu said.

“Those who cruelly murdered our children, murder their children as well,” Netanyahu said in a statement on Tuesday.

In a subsequent statement, the IDF spokesperson denied having a hand in the air strike. Hagari said an analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit.

“Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza,” IDF added.

The attack also comes a day before United States President Joe Biden is slated to visit Israel as a show of solidarity, Naija News reports.
