Wizkid Spotted Looking Sorrowful At His Mother’s Candlelight Procession – [Video]

Grammy-award-winning Nigerian music star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, will, alongside other family members lay his mother to rest today.

Naija News recalls that Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, died on August 18.

The family earlier announced her burial arrangement and funeral rite in an e-flier shared on social media on Sunday, stating that a wake and tribute will be held in the deceased’s honour today, October 12, 2023, while the funeral will take place the following day.

The funeral service will be held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David, Victoria Island, in Lagos.

A video clip has, however, surfaced showing Wizkid looking pale and sad at the candlelight procession of his late mother.

The video shared online by Wizkid’s fan base handle on X has since generated a mixed reaction as supporters send out heartwarming condolences and prayers to the singer.

Naija News understands that Wizkid is known to be very fond of his late mother. It could be recalled that during a 2012 radio interview with Tim Westwood, Wizkid revealed that his father has three wives.

However, in 2014, Wizkid released ‘Mummy Mi’, a song off his ‘Ayo’ album. A piece he dedicated to mothers across the world. The singer praised Jane for all the joy she gave to him. He also promised to spoil her with the finest things in life.
