Sunday Igboho Arrives In Germany, Reunites With Family (Video)

Embattled Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has arrived in Germany and reunited with his family.

The Yoruba nation agitator was freed on Sunday after about two years of house arrest and detention in Cotonou, the capital of Benin Republic.

However, the Oyo State-born activist landed in Hamburg, Germany, on Monday, and proceeded to reunite with his wife and children.

Igboho, in an interview with Nigerian Tribune, had said he is free to return to Nigeria or visit any country of his choice as he has fulfilled all legal conditions for his bail.

“I am now free to return to Nigeria and visit any country in the world. I fulfilled all the legal conditions attached to my bail a few years back, and I am coming home to Nigeria, my country of origin, any moment from now.

“I can confirm to you that I am now free to come back to Nigeria. There is no legal encumbrance again. Even though I have been living in Cotonou for some time, I can confirm to you categorically that I have now secured the liberty to leave Cotonou for Nigeria,” he said.

Igboho thanked all those who had supported him during his travail and detention in Benin and specifically pointed out the likes of Professor Banji Akintoye, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and Chief Ayo Adebanjo.

He also appreciated the likes of Olugbon of Orile Igbon and deputy chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, Kabiesi Oba Tosin Oni Bariga of Bariga, Oba Tejuoso, Oni Kenta of Orile Kenta, Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan Obateru, and other Yoruba monarchs for their support while he stayed in Cotonou.
