The PUNCH: The Chief Executive Officers and top management staff of banks may also be probed during the ongoing investigation of the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to findings by The PUNCH. It was learnt that some bank CEOs would be invited in an effort to ascertain any discrepancies around the management of intervention funds by deposit money banks.


The Guardian: If the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine escalates further, setting off a chain reaction, Nigeria, yet to recover from the economic crisis that followed the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, may have to deal with another energy crisis that may force the government to spend N644.8 billion subsidising Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) alone monthly.


The Nation: The Federal Government has set a target of five million jobs for youths in five years through the N-Power, which is undergoing a review. The plan is to create a million jobs each year, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu has said.


Daily Trust: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has confirmed the return of fuel subsidy under President Bola Tinubu. President Bola Tinubu had announced the removal of fuel subsidy on his first day in office, leading to increase in fuel price from N197 to between N480 and N570, the pump price was subsequently reviewed upward to N620.
