The PUNCH: The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has filed new documents against President Bola Tinubu before the Supreme Court in which he accused the President of forgery and lying under oath, and should therefore be disqualified and removed from office.


The Guardian: Ilebaye Precious Odiniya, who is popularly referred to as Ilebaye, emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija All Stars reality TV show. Born and raised in Okpo, Olamaboro Council of Kogi State, she attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Kabba, and Salem University in Lokoja, where she studied Criminology and Security Studies.


ThisDay: The Nigerian Army yesterday announced a massive offensive plan against terrorists in the South-east, Middle Belt, South-south and South-west. This is coming as seven graduates from Akwa Ibom State, abducted in Zamfara State on August 17, on their way to the Sokoto State NYSC orientation camp, clocked 52 days in the dungeons of terrorists


The Nation: The Nigerian Army is launching a new initiative amidst the rising wave of kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities across the country. Three exercises are scheduled to be conducted by the army over the next three months in the southern and northern parts with the North East and North West as the only exceptions.


Daily Trust: Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has hired renowned legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) to lead the charge to regain his mandate at the Court of Appeal. Daily Trust reports that the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal last month sacked Yusuf and declared his opponent, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election.
