Sunday PUNCH: President Bola Tinubu has announced the approval of N25,000 provisional allowance for junior federal workers over the next six months. He said the approval followed negotiations with labour unions and other stakeholders in the business community to increase the federal minimum wage without triggering undue inflation.


The Guardian: In September 2022, distraught and traumatised farmers in Kaduna State were constrained to tell the Federal Government to do what it needed to do so that they could gain access to their farmlands. Access to their farms became impossible as they were restrained and killed by insurgents.


ThisDay: Governors and members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have commenced moves to rescue the party from its present docility since the suspension of its National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.


The Nation: President Bola Tinubu has unveiled the provisional wage increment, a plan that will see the least paid Nigerian worker earning an additional N25,000 for the next six months. President Tinubu, who unveiled this in his televised nationwide broadcast, marking the occasion of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, also disclosed that the plan was based on talks with the organised Labour, business and other stakeholders.


Daily Trust: Senator Abdullahi Adamu has been in politics since he became the secretary, and later chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in Plateau State from 1978 to 1982. He was a minister in the government of General Sani Abacha, then contested to become the first civilian governor of Nasarawa State from 1999 to 2007. He later held the position of secretary, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he was elected to the Senate for three consecutive terms.
