Women on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) went spiritual in prayers ahead of today’s judgment of the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

Naija News gathered that women from all 13 local government areas of the state on Sunday held a prayer rally in support of the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Dr. David Ombugadu.

Recall that Ombugadu is challenging the victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress  (APC) in the March 18 governorship election.

The women, dressed in black attire with placards in their hands, sang emotional songs in the Hausa language, saying they were tired of the Sule-led APC government in the state.

At the PDP secretariat in Lafia, a leader of the Nasarawa Coalition for Justice, Hanatu John, explained that the prayer rally was to seek God’s favour for Ombugadu, in the judgment at the tribunal.

She asserted that even members of the APC in the state knew Ombugadu won the election.

John said, “All residents of the state, including members of the All Progressives Congress, are aware that the PDP candidate, Dr David Ombugadu, won the March 18, 2023 election, not the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“These women you see here are over 1,000 in number. They voluntarily came from all parts of the state to pray for our governorship candidate because they are tired of the APC-led government. They no longer want to be deceived, that is why they are all gathered here today in solidarity with the PDP.”
