Reactions As Wike Mocks Peter Obi, Dares PDP To Suspend Him

Several reactions have trailed the comment made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Naija News reported that Wike had, in an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, said Obi was not a better candidate than President Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

The former Rivers State Governor said if the LP flagbearer were a better candidate, Nigerians would have voted for him in the February 25 election and would have become the president today.

Below are some of the reactions.

@GodwinDenzel wrote: “I thought this man (Wike) hailed Obi after the elections 😂… These Politicians are worse than the devil.”

@daniel_onobo wrote: “Nigerians voted for Peter Obi, but somehow, other candidates garnered more votes.”

@Beekhaybee wrote: “Well said If he were better, He would have won. And if otherwise, let’s go to court and prove it.”

@salawueedris1 wrote: “Peter Obi is mid with irk followers.

@adex_smithjr wrote:  “Well said Wike. Nigerians voted for the right candidate.”

@Lordkesh6 wrote: “Exactly; he believed he won the election and couldn’t prove it in court. Filled the courtroom with ballot papers, thinking that judges would feel overwhelmed by such acts. He should go back to the UK and beg them for his ILR.”

@maxtopazz wrote: “Nigerians voted for Peter Obi, and he won the election. You said it yourself. You can twerk and even give Tinubu lapdance, but please keep PO’s name out of your mouth.

@ThatNaijaGuy001 wrote: “Peter Obi was not only better, he was the best, and that’s why Nigerians across religion, political party, and ethnicity voted massively for him. But Fraudfessor Yakubu decided to announce Thiefnubu, the drug lord by 4 a.m. The judiciary must, therefore, quickly restore the mandate to the right owner.

Wike also dared the leadership of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to suspend or discipline him for alleged anti-party activities.

The FCT minister stated that he has not seen the party chieftain who will suspend or expel him from the party.

Following the comments, some netizens took to social media to berate the former governor for his utterances, which they said were full of pride, while others hailed him for standing up to his party and believing in President Tinubu.

Below are some of the reactions.

@obajemujnr wrote: “Wike is setting a bad record for upcoming and aspiring politicians with anti-party activities; someone in the future will attempt this, then use Wike as an example for his mischievous act.”

@abazwhyllzz wrote: “Won’t be surprised if this man ends up being president after Tinubu…. His style of playing politics, eh.”

@Esquire207 wrote: “He said it with full confidence. If PDP has some balls, he will be suspended tomorrow. But certainly, they are cowards.”

@daniel_onobo wrote, “Oh, you mean Wike is still a card-carrying member of PDP while in Tinubu’s cabinet? Intrigues.”

@KenEhi7 wrote: “Nyesom Wike said Asiwaju had no single poster in River State during the Presidential campaign but won River State. How is that possible ???? Wike is reconfirming his massive rigging.

@salawueedris1 wrote: “The authentic Chairman of PDP, Nyesom Wike, has talked. Aggrieved PDP members should go and join ELUU p 71.”

@theo_enakhe wrote: “Nawa ooo… Imagine the arrogance. So this is how low PDP is now.”
