Ken Pela Of Labour Party Reacts To Appeal Court Victory Against Delta Governorship Tribunal

The Delta State governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Ken Pela has reacted to the decision of the appeal court in his suit before the state election petition tribunal.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the Court of Appeal on Thursday granted the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate approval to return to the Delta State Election Tribunal to continue his petition challenging the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Delta State Election Tribunal had earlier dismissed LP’s petition against Governor Sheriff on the ground that he abandoned his pre-hearing.

However, Pela took the matter to the Court Of Appeal in Abuja where he contested the decision of the election tribunal.

The Judges at the Appeal Court Abuja disagreed with the judgment of the Delta State Governorship Election Tribunal and overturned the judgement.

Reacting to the development in an interview with Njenje Media Tv on Thursday, Pela said the appellate court has just proven that the case would not be based on technicalities.

He called on the judiciary to also do the right thing in the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).

Pela pointed out that the “Judiciary is the hope of the common man.

“The Court of Appeal has proven that technicality will not be allowed in this matter. Justice must be done and must be seen to have be done.

“So, let’s continue to hope and trust that the Judiciary will do the right thing in the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).”
