Wike Gets Support Of Northeast Elders To Restore Abuja Master Plan

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday claimed that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominated people for appointment in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The former governor of Rivers State made this claim during an interview on Channels TV.

Wike claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government reached out to governors of the ruling party and opposition party for nominations for political posts.

The minister said, “I never said PDP governors nominated ministers; I never said so. I said this (Tinubu) government wrote to all the governments of PDP and APC to nominate people for appointment.

“PDP governors nominated people for appointments. Appointment is appointment both as Boards and Commissions.

“I challenged anybody who is a governor of PDP that never wrote any letter to this government for so and so people to be appointed under this government. Nobody has come to challenge me.”

Naija News had earlier reported that Wike said he remains a member of the PDP despite serving in the APC administration.

Speaking on his PDP membership, he said the party is just a vehicle and he is not in President Tinubu’s administration for party purposes.
