Gov Seyi Makinde Picks Date To Present Staff Of Office To Soun Of Ogbomoso, Aseyin Of Iseyin

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said governors are better equipped with strategic leadership skills to deliver good governance to Nigerians.

Makinde, the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), made a case for Nigerian governors after 19 governors of the federation attended a three-day training on executive leadership in Kigali, the Rwandan capital.

Naija News gathered that the forum had partnered with the United Nations Development Programme to organise the leadership retreat to deepen governance across the sub-national level.

While speaking on Sunday after the three-day training at the instance of the Rwandan President, Mr. Paul Kagame, Makinde said he was glad 19 Nigerian state governors were present at the three days retreat to dialogue on reimagining leadership and leveraging innovative technology, drawing inspiration from Rwanda’s transformative journey.

In a jointly signed statement by the Director of Media at the NGF, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, and Head Public Engagement, Outreach, and Partnership Lead, UNDP Nigeria, Christabel Chanda-Ginsberg, it was learned that participants of the training tagged ‘Reimagining leadership in a fast-changing world,’ had engaging sessions that explored Rwanda’s successful investment destination transformation in digital technology, urban planning and socio-economic change, and had a private dialogue with President Kagame.

“It has been an engaging retreat. I am glad a significant number of governors are here to be part of it so that, together, we can use the knowledge acquired

“Our discussions have equipped us with adaptive leadership strategies and identifying pathways to effective governance and nationwide sustainable development,” Makinde was quoted to have said in the statement.
