President Tinubu's Ministers Won't Go Beyond 15% In Performance – Atiku's Aide
Daniel Bwala and President Bola Tinubu

The spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar 2023 presidential campaign organization, Daniel Bwala, has again criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s newly inaugurated ministers, saying some of them are of questionable character.

According to Bwala, he does not expect the newly sworn-in ministers to perform beyond 15 per cent.

Naija News reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain stated this on Wednesday while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme.

Bwala stressed that, based on the personalities appointed by the President, he doesn’t expect much from them, asserting that the portfolio assigned to some of them was merely political.

“I feel that when it comes to the number of ministers, he (Tinubu) was more particular about politics than governance. The number of governors in the cabinet and the portfolios assigned to some individuals were purely political.

“I don’t have an expectation of a performance that is going to be beyond 15 per cent, looking at the cabinet members.

“This is because you have a cabinet that is full of people whose track record betrays what we are expecting of them. A governor who did not do much in a state where he had the resources and made executive decisions and nobody questioned him yet couldn’t do anything,” Bwala said during the live interview.

Naija News reports that President Tinubu, on Monday, swore in 45 ministers into his cabinet, which had former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Festus Keyamo as Minister of Aviation.

Other ministers include Wale Edun (Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy), Adegboyega Oyetola (Transportation), David Umahi (Works), Festus Keyamo (Aviation and Aerospace Development), and Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation).

You Came With A Bullish Spirit, Venting Fire And Brimstone – Bwala Sends Message To Wike

Naija News reported earlier that Bwala directed an open letter to the newly sworn-in Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Recall that Wike officially resumed office at the FCTA at about 1:20 PM on Monday after the swearing-in ceremony at the presidential villa.

While addressing the press, the Minister announced that he plans on pulling down houses illegally constructed within the nation’s capital, no matter whose property it is.

Reacting to the threat via a post on Twitter, Bwala condemned Wike for beginning his job with a vindictive spirit.

He warned that if Wike decided to create chaos in Abuja, he would end up sacrificing his job.

He wrote, “TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

“Hello sir, in case you need a refresher course, the basic needs of the residents of the FCT are affordable healthcare facilities, access to good education facilities, clean sports and recreational centres, affordable transport services system, efficient and workable street lights in the city Centre and the suburbs; and finally, security. You came with a bullish and vendetta spirit, venting fire and brimstone about demolition and revocation of titles. Abuja is not Port Harcourt. If you create chaos in the city, you will jeopardize your principal’s interests, and he will be forced to sacrifice your job. You will learn humility on the job.”
