El-Rufai Sparks Reaction With Cryptic Message After Failing To Clinch Ministerial Appointment

The immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has sparked reactions with a post on social media on Sunday.

Naija News recalls El-Rufai was nominated for ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu but was not confirmed by the National Assembly over a reported case of not getting a security clearance.

Following the development, El-Rufai travelled out of the country after reportedly telling the President he was no longer interested in serving in his cabinet.

On Sunday, the former Governor took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to share the lyrics of one of the songs by popular reggae musician, Bob Marley which spoke about friendship, trust and betrayal.

Sharing the lyrics, El-Rufai wrote: “Bob Marley of blessed memory is one of most talented musicians of all time. My love for reggae music is connected with his songs and music.

“Who The Cap Fit – Bob Marley & The Wailers is one of my favorites from the 1970s. Enjoy your Sunday with the song and lyrics that are timeless.”

Some netizens thereafter took to the comment section of the post to mock him that he is hurting from failing to be cleared for ministerial appointment while some others said they still look forward to seeing him work with the current government despite what has transpired.

Below are some of the reactions culled by Naija News.

@Drelmoatiku: So, you have now become a reggae dancer since Tinubu refused to make you a minister. I recommend a collabo with @burnaboy.

@kuwait_magix: Tinubu played you out to Egypt, you’re playing Bob Marley out to us just to console yourself.

Lessons has been learnt.

@emuvee: One of our very best. It will hurt not to see you transform the Power sector.

@muktees: Cryptic but not so encrypted

@Surayyah__ahmad: A lot said in a song about friendship and betrayal. Idan Allah Yayi ma mutum, bayadda aka iya dashi.

@masonsokun4real: Great man when are coming to Nigeria for your position as Minister.

@AyowoleSanyaolu: If Bob Marley was a Nigerian residing in Kaduna, you would have harassed, intimidated, and jailed him without a second thought.

@warisuo: More like what goes around comes around.

@immortalprince1: ‘Throw me corn 🌽’ Road to 2027 will be interesting. PDP + ousted APC + others vs ♾ APC. While the governance is not great, Nigerian politics sweet pass football. I wish politicians could use good governance as a politicking tool. Betray yourselves, just let citizens breathe!

@Jack_Bauer_II: Mallam sir, now you know how it feels to be betrayed right? Good.

That was exactly how Goodluck felt when you betrayed him. That is exactly how Southern Kaduna feels with ur betrayal of their trust. Betrayal is never a sweet pill to swallow.

Hope u enjoy ur Bob Marley song.

@sule_ubaliyo: Your Excellency don’t forget “Prayer is the master key to everything… When life is good pray and when life is hard also pray don’t be tired

May Allah answer our prayers and destroy our open and close enemies and the enemies of our dear country Nigeria 🇳🇬Ameen🤲🙏”

@paulsonPSB: When are you returning back Sir for your confirmation and inauguration?

@eltama007: This tweet is not about Bob Marley music, well encrypted message.

@NaijaWilf: The cap fits you, Mallam El-Rufai and you will definitely wear it.

You will surely be cleared as a Minister to come and fix the Power sector by God’s grace.

@bod_refurbished: Sir you are wailing this early Sunday. Cook cook cook. Throw me corn. 😁

@tolaogunnubi: Song of lamentation. Is it not too early for this?

Abeg wait till after now.

@zune_king: Lessons are be learnt 💯…. last last everybody go chop breakfast.

@Dr_Ezechi: Hahaha, they played the “almighty bigot” and he’s playing Bob Marley, Wonderment!!!

@tmmaikadama: Mallam please come back.
