'If I Ask For Free Land, Don't Give Me, Deliver Abuja Metro Line For Nigerians' - President Tinubu Tells Wike

Some Nigerians are speculating about ‘Rerun’ as a possible judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal following the ministerial appointment of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Naija News recalls the full list of the ministerial portfolios under the Tinubu government was released on Wednesday night, with Wike listed as the FCT Minister and Festus Keyamo as Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, amongst others.

However, some Nigerian have expressed mixed feelings over Wike’s position, considering the widely unconfirmed reports that he aided the alleged rigging in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election.

At the time of the report, ‘Rerun’ is trending on the microblogging platform, Twitter, with over thirteen thousand tweets linked to Wike’s appointment.

@novieverest wrote: “He is deceiving himself. First Tinubu won’t be on the ballot for a rerun.
Second, all the appointees will step down. He thinks he is wise.”

@NigeriaRenew wrote: “I am very certain that more than 95% of the tiny few who voted for Tinubu in February due to tribal and religious sentiments would not repeat the same mistake again if a rerun election is held today.”

@odogwu_obi wrote: “Abuja obidients get ready .. They have given Wike FCT minister so that he can bring his rigging machine to the FCT to rig 25% for them incase there is a Rerun.. Weak Wike cannot deliver 25% in the FCT for APC.”

@MO_Shaibu_ wrote: “They purposely allocated third position to Peter Obi because they didn’t want him in the race in the event that a rerun option was needed as plan B, but forgot the fact that their agbado druggie president didn’t even qualify to run in the first place and has to be disqualified.”

@IkukuomaC wrote: “It can’t happen. If court orders for rerun all the ministers will step down including him and hand over to Senate President”

@Orji_Okosisi1 wrote: “Bola Tinubu wants the rigging machine (Wike) to rig Abuja for him, in the event the judiciary orders for a rerun or fresh presidential election, hence he appointed him Minister of FCT, but let me be clear: Bola Tinubu would not be on the ballot, in the event the judiciary nullifies his “victory,” and orders for a rerun or fresh election. The Tribunal and Supreme Court not disqualifying Bola Tinubu from contesting for presidential election in Nigeria, will be a travesty of justice.”
