The former Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has caused a stir on social media after posters indicating his interest in the Yobe Senatorial district primaries emerged on social media.

Naija News understands that Usman Baba may be seeking to contest in the Yobe South senatorial district election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) following the resignation of the current senator, Ibrahim Geidam to become a minister.

Recall that Geidam, who is the serving senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District in Yobe State, was among the second batch of ministerial nominees forwarded to the red chamber by President Bola Tinubu last week.

The poster of the former IGP vying for a senatorial position have stirred mixed reactions amongst Nigerians on social media.
