Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has come under fire for querying the government over the death of a young doctor, Dr Vwaere Diaso who died at the Lagos Island general hospital.

Naija News reports that Diaso died on Tuesday, August 1, after the elevator she had taken to picking up her food from a vendor fell from the 10th floor to the ground floor.

It was also gathered that the late doctor was rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital for treatment but eventually died.

Reacting to the tragic death of the young doctor, the mother of one noted that the ignorance of doing the right thing had cost so many lives, which will soon be forgotten after some days.

She said:“RIP to you Dr Diasco💔 if we talk now, they will say we are using our platform to fight the government instead of supporting and praying for them hmmmnnn.

“I believe we all know the right thing to do but we choose to ignore until such situation affect or kill somebody! We talk about it for few days..then everyone moves on like nothing happened.

“Na who die life finish & end for.

“May the Almighty console the friends & family of the decease.”

Following her comment, netizens condemned her for calling out the government, adding that the actress would have focused people who were assigned to maintain and fix the elevator, as they were the ones responsible for Diaso’s death and not the government.

Funke Oluborode wrote, “Must you attack the government all the time, somebody or group of people is assigned to manage government property and such persons should be hold responsible. I believe you are looking for all opportunities to nail the government.”

Odunaiyaeabeola 2002 wrote: “Is this about government or the CMD of that general hospital and technical staff? Should government be responsible for all faults? What are our own responsibilities as citizens?”
