Popular Nigerian activist, Reno Omokri has claimed that the reason Nigerians are poor despite constantly praying to God is because they do not work hard.

Omokri argued that the time that should be dedicated to working hard is often spent praying.

The former presidential aide made reference to China and Japan who are non-christian countries, but have healthy economies.

Omokri stated that while countries like Japan and China are working, Nigeria is busy praying.

He insisted that God does not bless those who believe in him but those who follow his commandment.

Speaking via Twitter, he wrote, “Japan is proof that success doesn’t come from prayers. If a country should be poor, that nation is Japan. The smallest African nation has more minerals than them.

“Japan is not prayerful. Yet, they are a wealthy nation because of hard and smart work. Ephesians 4:28 says, “WORK HARD, so you will have something to GIVE to PEOPLE in NEED”.

“This principle is why Japan and China, two non-Christian nations, are two of the single largest individual donors to Africa. They WORK while Africa PRAYS, and as a result of that Godly principle, they PROSPER while Africa BEGS. The God of Scripture does not bless those who believe in Him. Even demons believe in God. No. God blesses those who OBEY Him. He says WORK and be BLESSED. If non-Christian nations like China and Japan obey Him, God will bless them!

“Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.-Romans 2:14.”
