Omokri Clarifies Statement On Tinubu Attending Chicago State University

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has stated that he would never abandon the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Naija News recalls that the Department of State Servic (DSS) and officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service had engaged in a tug-of-war over the custody of Emefiele.

Emefiele, had during his hearing in the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to two counts of illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition.

He was later granted bail in the sum of N20 million with one surety in like sum.

Despite his bail, the DSS still took custody of Emefiele and whisked him away after the court session.

Speaking on the travails of the embattled CBN governor, Omokri insisted that Emefiele is his friend and he would never abandon him.

He went on to state that Emefiele has been kind to different people at various times, including a presidential candidate from the southeast, whose name he refused to mention.

Omokri wrote, “Godwin Emefiele is my friend. I have NEVER collected a dime from him. But I will NEVER abandon him. I know that Emefiele has been kind to different people at different times, including a major Presidential candidate from the Southeast, who has chosen to remain loudly quiet while Emefiele is going through some of the most challenging times of his life.”
