Charly Boy Knocks El-Rufai Over Comment About Peter Obi

Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy has opened up on the reason he has not relocated from Nigeria despite the loss of his preferred presidential candidate, Peter Obi at the 2023 polls.

Naija News recalls that the 73-year-old had vowed to leave Nigeria if either Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as president.

Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25th presidential election and subsequently sworn in as president on May 29th.

However, months after the president’s swearing-in Charly Boy has not indicated any interest in leaving the country.

On Friday, the entertainer took to his Twitter handle to disclose the reason for not keeping to the promise he made earlier.

He said that he had chosen not to leave because he was hopeful that things would turn around eventually.

According to him, “I remember over 1yr ago, I bin talk say, if PDP or APC win the election, I go just pack my tins commot Nigeria.

“Today am still staying put in Nigeria because I am hopeful in the face of all the Potopoto I see.

“Thank you, Peter Obi, for renewing my HOPE. God bless you.”
