Tinubu: Buhari, Osinbajo, Others Finally Removed As Aso Rock Occupants
Former President, Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo

Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, have been finally removed as occupants of the palatial residence at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

Naija News recalls that Buhari handed over the government to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023.

However, reports are that several weeks after the handing-over event, Buhari and Osinbajo and the immediate past Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim A. Gambari, are still listed as occupants of the palatial residence.

It was gathered that Buhari’s picture was also on display on the state house website while details about former appointees of the past President and his Vice were also left unchanged.

A recent check on the villa website by journalists, however, showed it had been updated.

According to SaharaReporters, the Nigerian government has now updated the website of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa just as the names of the former leaders were removed as occupants of the workplace and official residence of the President of Nigeria.

The website now has Tinubu’s picture on its homepage. Information about his aides including the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, was also included on the website.

Naija News understands that the Aso Rock Villa became the residence of the first and second citizens, including their top aides in 1991 after Nigeria moved its capital from Lagos to Abuja.

It is located at Yakubu Gowon Crescent, The Three Arms Zone, Asokoro, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. Several names that are used for Aso Villa include State House, The Rock and The Villa.
