Taiwo Oyedele Resigns From PwC After Getting Appointment From President Tinubu

The recently appointed chairman of the presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms, Taiwo Oyedele has resigned from PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Until his appointment by President Bola Tinubu on July 7, Naija News understands Oyedele was a fiscal policy partner and Africa tax leader at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

However, Oyedele in a tweet on Wednesday, announced that he has resigned from PwC after over twenty years of service in order to avoid any conflict of interest and to fully focus on his new assignment.

“After over 2 decades at PwC, I have made the hard but necessary decision to exit the firm.

“This is to enable me to focus fully with undivided attention on my new role as the Chair of the Presidential Fiscal Policy & Tax Reform Committee, which I consider an important national assignment.

“This decision will also prevent any potential distractions from real or perceived conflicts of interest.

“Thank you all once again for your support, best wishes and prayers. May God bless you all, and may God bless Nigeria,” he announced in a tweet.

Oyedele and his committee members are charged with the responsibility of enhancing revenue collection, improving efficiency, and ensuring transparent reporting. Their scope of duty also includes promoting the effective utilization of tax and other revenues to boost tax morale of citizens, foster a healthy tax culture, and drive voluntary compliance.
