Ex-President Buhari Reacts As Abuja Mosque Chief Imam Loses Mother
Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has commiserated with an Abuja-based Imam, Dr Tajudeen Adigun Bello, over the demise of his mother, Hajiya Aishatu Muhammad Bello Adigun.

Naija News understands that Dr Adigun is the Chairman of the Council of Imams in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Chief Imam of Fouad Lababidi Central Mosque, Wuse Zone 3 Abuja.

It was gathered that the cleric’s mother died last week and was buried at Offa, Kwara State on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

In a statement through his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed his condolence to the prominent Islamic leader, who is currently away on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Buhari prayed to Allah to repose the deceased’s soul.

Buhari Was A Woeful Disappointment To Nigerians – Baba-Ahmed

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said that former President, Muhammadu Buhari, was a huge disappointment to Nigerians.

Baba-Ahmed said Nigerians expected more from the former leader in the areas of fighting insecurity and corruption but failed to deliver in his eight years in office.

According to the NEF spokesman, Buhari failed the Northern region, the country, and the electorates that trooped out to give him the kind of votes that no other President ever had in 2015.

In an interview with The Punch, Baba-Ahmed said Buhari raised a lot of expectations but left the country a lot worse than he met it, Naija News reports.

He, however, expressed hope that President Tinubu will have learnt from Buhari’s weaknesses and failures to create a radically different government from the last administration and do better than Buhari.

He said: “In a word, expectant! Yes, expectant, because we expect that President Tinubu will do phenomenally better than Buhari. The immediate past President was a woeful disappointment.

“He failed the nation. He failed the North. He failed the electorates that trooped out to give him the kind of votes that no other President has ever had. He raised a lot of expectations but left the country a lot worse than he met it.

“So, we are hoping that if Tinubu continues to be the President after all these judicial processes have been concluded, he will have learnt from President Buhari’s weaknesses and failures to create a government that is radically different from that of President Buhari because this country has to move on.

“We don’t have another eight years to lose. There’s a very high expectation that we will have good governance, we will have a secure country, and we will have a compassionate government.”
