President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on Sunday officially elected as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States Authority of the Heads of State and Government.

Naija News reports that Tinubu’s attendance of the forum of West African leaders was his first as Nigeria’s president and second official trip out of the country after a summit in Paris, France.

Tinubu succeeded President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau as the leader of the sub-regional political and economic body.
