Victor Mbaoma has joined Rwanda’s Armée Patriotique Rwandaise FC after helping Katsina United to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League earlier this month.

The Nigerian striker signed a two-year contract with Armée Patriotique Rwandaise FC who have won the elite league in Rwanda 16 times.

His hometown club, Remo Stars, has been keeping an eye on the former Enyimba and Akwa United striker as they look to bolster their squad in preparation for their run in the CAF Champions League next season.

Remo coach Daniel Ogunmodede has earlier told reporters that the striker is their top transfer target for the upcoming season. Despite their open interest in the player, Victor Mbaoma decided to join a foreign club.

Mbaoma decided to quit the NPFL once more not long after unexpectedly terminating a two-year contract with Algeria’s Mouloudia Club Oranais.

The talent of the 26-year-old striker has never been in doubt as he helped Katsina return to the top flight after spending a season in the second division by scoring four goals in three games for them during the recently concluded Nigeria National League playoffs.

Victor Mbaoma started his professional football career at Remo Stars in 2016 and left the club on loan to Akwa United in 2018. In 2019, he joined Enyimba on a permanent deal and then left the country to play for an Algerian club MC Algiers in 2022.
