The first lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has urged Nigerian Christians to embrace peace and unity for the progress and development of the country.

Sanwo-Olu stated this while speaking at the 2023 Lagos Praise 3.0, an annual event organised by her office to bring together members of Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), in collaboration with the state Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

She said: “This year’s theme, ‘Casting Crowns’, taken from Rev. 4: 10-11, was chosen to signify the act of laying down one’s crown and submitting to worship.

“I welcome you to this praise session, and urge you to enjoy the presence of God; be alive in the spirit to get the best from this service. Beyond this service, I admonish us in the light of Hebrews 12: 14 to follow peace with men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Let’s embrace peace and be pure in our relationship with people…’’

Also, CAN Chair, Rev Stephen Adegbite said: “We have learnt how to worship the Lord, and He has been faithful to us. If you can worship you will receive more from God. It is more good for you to know how to praise God because of who He is, who He has been and who He will continue to be.”

Present at the event were Speaker of House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, represented by Deputy Majority Leader, Richard Kasumu, former governor’s wife, Gladys Ndubusi-Kanu, former Deputy Governor Sarah Sosan, Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA Oladotun Olakanle, among others.
