A prominent monarch in Osun State, Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye Olaigbo VIII, has reportedly died.

It was gathered that the Elende of Eko-Ende died on Sunday (today) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos State.

Oba Olaniyan, whose domain is in the Ifelodun local government area of the state, is said to have died after battling a brief illness.

Details about the demise of the monarch are, however, scanty as of reporting time, Naija News reports.

Gov Matawalle’s Special Adviser Kidnapped

Meanwhile, some unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped Ibrahim Ma’aji, the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Mattawalle on political affairs.

Reports obtained by Naija News revealed that Ma’aji was abducted on Saturday morning at his house in the Mareri area in Gusau town, the state capital.

A relative of the abductee, Mohammed Ahmed, told reporters that the assailants were yet to reach out to them since the morning when the governor’s aide was taken away.

“The bandits are yet to call any of the family members to demand ransom.

“We have been calling his phone number, and it was ringing, but nobody answers,” The PUNCH quoted the source saying.

The state command of the Nigeria Police Force is yet to release any official statement concerning the attack as of reporting time, Naija News reports.
