The name of Nollywood actor cum Labour Party candidate for Surulere 1 Constituency, Olumide Oworu, has been declared missing from the final list of governorship and House of Assembly candidates.

Naija News reports that Olumide is seeking to unseat his colleague and incumbent lawmaker, Desmond Elliot.

However, reports have made the rounds on Twitter claiming that Olumidem Oworu’s name is missing from the INEC list.

A Twitter user @StFrankingKezy wrote: “This guy is not even a candidate of LP in the forthcoming Gov & HoA elections oooooo because his name is not even on INEC list. Wonders shall never end. Who started the narrative?”

The final list of gubernatorial and state House of Assembly candidates obtained by Daily Trust shows that Oworu’s name is indeed missing from the INEC list.

Instead, the electoral umpire listed 47-year-old Bode Adedayo as the Labour Party’s authentic candidate for the election.

Recall that Olumide Oworu and his supporters were attacked by suspected political thugs around Bode Thomas Street Junction in Surulere when they were about to kick off a campaign rally.

His opponent, Desmond later condemned the attack describing it as a ‘senseless attack’ from hoodlums masquerading as party supporters.
