Solomon Lar Prophesied I Will Be Speaker In 2007 - Wase

Ahead of the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on June 10, 2023, the race for the Speakership position has begun in earnest with some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) showing interest in the exalted office.

Recall that the APC leadership and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, met with Senators and members of the House of Representatives elected on the party’s platform to chart a course for the selection of the leadership of the two chambers of the National Assembly.

At the meeting, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, told the elected legislators that he has no preferred candidate for the leadership of the two chambers.

Naija News gathered that those reportedly eyeing the Speakership position for the 10th House of Representatives include five ranking lawmakers.

The aspirants include the incumbent Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase; former Speaker of Plateau House of Assembly, the Spokesperson of the House, Benjamin Kalu; embattled majority leader, Ado Doguwa; Aliyu Betara, Yusuf Gagdi, Aminu Sani Jaji, and Tunji Olawuyi.

It is understood that the zoning of the speakership would need to provide an acceptable zoning direction that will be sensitive to the religious affinity of the incoming administration.
