Even During Party Primaries, People Share Dollars - Peter Obi Laments

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has insisted that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu did not win the 2023 presidential election.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the electoral process.

The former governor of Anambra State was declared third in the presidential election, behind the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who came second.

Obi in an interview on Arise TV on Monday insisted that Tinubu did not win the election held on the 25th of February, 2023.

The LP presidential candidate also rubbished the claims that he helped a presidential candidate win the election.

Obi stated this while reacting to the statement of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, that God raised Obi to make Tinubu president.

Speaking during the interview he said, “I did not contest the election to help anybody to win; to win is to win the people.

“Democracy is the government for the people, and if you have not won the people it means you have not won, and this is what we are challenging because the declared winner did not win.

“I have never and will not ask anybody to rig an election for me.”
