NNPP Takes Position On Alliance With Other Parties For 2023 Gov Election

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has warned members against forming any form of alliance with other political parties for the 2023 governorship and state assembly elections.

The party in a statement on Sunday by its national publicity secretary, Agbo Major said all hands must rather be on deck to ensure the NNPP wins votes across the country in the March 11 election.

The NNPP added that any member discovered to be negotiating or forming alliances with other political parties would be duly sanctioned.

Such members would be sanctioned with penalties ranging from suspension to possible expulsion, the party stated.

The NNPP rather called on its members to remain “focused, campaign vigorously, and ensure they sweep” the elections across the country.

“Our great party is not in any alliance with any political party in these elections,” the statement reads

“Accordingly, party officers, members, and candidates at all levels are not authorized to discuss, negotiate or form any alliance with any political party for the purpose of winning the upcoming gubernatorial and legislative polls.

“Anyone who endorses a candidate of another political party will be sanctioned in line with the NNPP Constitution ranging from suspension from office, suspension from the party, and possibly expulsion.”

On The 2023 Presidential Election

Major also rejected the outcome of the 2023 presidential election and the results announced for the party’s candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Naija News recalls Kwankwaso placed fourth in the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the February 25 election. The party won only Kano state with 997,279 votes.

The party also won at least 11 seats in the house of representatives.
