#NigeriaDecides2023: APC Senatorial Candidate Concedes Defeat In Kano

Kabiru Gaya of the All Progressives Congress, who has been representing the Kano South Senatorial District for 23 years, has congratulated Kawu Sumaila of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on winning the senate seat for the zone.

Sumaila’s victory was the result of Allah’s will, according to Gaya, who declared his defeat in a statement made on Monday in Kano. Gaya also added that he would not contest against Allah’s decision.

He expressed his gratitude to the All-Mighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to represent his compatriots in the upper chambers since 1999.

Also, he expressed gratitude to the district’s citizens for allowing him to serve them and encouraged them to support the newly elected senator to improve both the district and the state.

Sumaila, a former senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters, defeated Gaya with 192,518 votes.
