Kwankwaso Not Planning To Join APC - NNPP National Chairman

The spokesperson for the New Nigeria Peoples Party Presidential Campaign Council, Ladipo Johnson, has said his principal, Rabiu Kwankwaso, would work with the winner of the presidential election if he loses.

Naija News reports that Kwankwaso is contesting the presidential race with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), among others.

Speaking with The Punch, Johnson said Kwanwakso would accept the outcome of the election so far as the exercise was free, fair, and credible, adding that his principal believes in Nigeria.

The NNPP campaign spokesman added that the former Governor of Kano State would assist the President-elect in any capacity if he did not win.

He said: “We are people who believe in Nigeria and as long as we have free and fair elections, there is no problem. What we will do is continue to look at what the government is doing. If they seek assistance, we will also assist them. If what they are doing is wrong, we will say so. We will continue to participate in the process.

Johnson asserted that Kwankwaso would be willing to work with other people across the different political parties if elected as the next President.

He said: “Definitely, he has said he will look for the best hands for positions. He is going to govern Nigerians and not just the NNPP, Kano State or the North. He will engage them because they are also Nigerians.”
