The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has cast his vote in his polling unit 11 at Agasa Uvete, in Okeneba, Okene.

Naija News reports that the governor, who exercised his franchise at the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly elections arrived at the polling Unit at 9.40 am.

It was gathered that the governor on his arrival queued up behind other voters who came before him.

Bello was reported to have voted at exactly 10 am after he was appropriately accredited and verified with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) machine.

The governor after casting his votes told pressmen that he is optimistic about a peaceful election, noting that the election would be conducted without any hitches throughout the state.

He said though there were reports of BVAS failure in some parts of the state, they were being rectified and voting was ongoing in affected polling units.

It was gathered that Okene, which usually records violence was relatively peaceful with voters seen queuing at the various polling units visited within Okene, Adavi and Okehi Local Government Areas to cast their vote.
