#Nigeriadecides: Olusegun Mimiko Hails Introduction Of Technology Into Election System

Former Ondo governor Olusegun Mimiko has asserted that the use of technology by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had decreased incidents of vote-buying and ballot-snatching.

Mimiko stated this after casting his vote at the Ondo West local government area Open Space polling unit.

While giving his view about the election, Mimiko asserted that both the process and the election were peaceful.

“I have not heard any report either on ballot snatching, technology has made it a thing of the past. But the report I heard was that some people in some areas are trying to harass people in the rural areas where they perceived they are weak”, he said.

He however claimed that he learned some people were intimidating voters in some rural areas.

“To a very large extent, I have not got any electoral violence, this process is less stressful in a way that you will just come, vote and go away”, he added.
