The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has received commendations for his administration’s feat in infrastructural development in the state.

Naija News reports that the former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko has appreciated Wike’s efforts to change the state of health infrastructure in Rivers, a step he described as being significant toward the delivery of high-quality healthcare.

Mimiko, who is a supporter of the five aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors popular known as G5 led by Wike, said the investment drive of the Rivers governor is radical and distinctive.

The former Ondo State governor in a statement signed by his media aide, John Paul Akinduro, said Wike’s accomplishments standouts him out in the Nigerian political landscape.

Mimiko, who made the commendation at the flag off of the construction of Indorama – Agbonchia- Ogale- Ebubu – East/West Link road in Rivers State, advanced that Wike has been dubbed the undeniable face of the movement for social justice, adding that in a multiethnic society like Nigeria, equality in politics emphasises the importance of identity.

While appreciating Wike for embarking on projects that have poverty reduction components, Mimiko said “The development of the human capital dimension is unmistakable. The practical manner in which Governor Wike’s focused leadership has enhanced the value of Rivers people, and earned them respect across the land cannot also be denied.

“To suggest that identity can be discounted in such a context is to be untruthful. The sensibility of regional groups – indeed, every demographic compartment – about equity, justice, fairness can simply not be jettisoned on the altar of political convenience, expediency and braggadocio.”
