Election Tribunal Receives 45 Petitions Over March 18 Polls

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) eventually arrived at the Kukawa unit (PU 021) in Lamisula Jabbamari, Maiduguri metropolis today hours after the official election commencement time.

Naija News reported earlier that the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, angrily left the polling unit after noticing the absence of the INEC officials upon his arrival.

Shettima and Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, reportedly arrived at the Polling Unit at 9:58 am but left minutes later as they noticed that no official or election material was available.

Reports reaching Naija News at the moment confirmed that the election has commenced at the unit as eligible voters, mostly women, had queued up at the polling unit of the APC’s vice presidential candidate polling unit to cast their votes.
